Public business premises

You are applying for a special arrangement because you have already concluded a one-year licence with Unisono for the use of music in your publicly accessible premises.

When calculating the Unisono rate for the use of music in business premises that are not accessible to the public, the number of FTEs will be reduced as a percentage according to the ratio of areas that are not accessible to the public to the total business area (= the total floor area of the company).

The following formula shall be used to calculate the reduced number of FTEs:
((Total floor area - total area accessible to the public) / total floor area) X total number of FTEs = the number of FTEs used by Unisono to determine the rate “Music in the workplace”. The special rate will be applied afterwards to this.

Regarding copyright, the tranche ‘1 to 10’ FTEs of the special rate applies if the reduced number of FTEs is less than 9 FTEs.

If, according to the general rate, you fall in the tranche ‘9 to 10’ FTEs and you obtain a reduced number of FTEs that is less than 9 FTEs, then the tranche ‘9 to 10’ FTEs of the general rate remains applicable for the copyrights, but is reduced by 10%.

* Regarding the fair remuneration, the tranche ‘9 to 10’ FTEs of the general rate, reduced by 10%, applies if the reduced number of FTEs is less than 9 FTEs.

Introductory discount – Authors' rights
For the first Licence concluded with Unisono, the Licensee is granted a discount equal to one free month of the annual copyright amount according to the applicable tariff. If the Licence is shorter than twelve months, the Licensee receives a discount of 8.33% of the copyright amount owed.

All prices excluding VAT stated on this price list are adjusted annually in accordance with the following formula:

p = P * [ 0,55 * (t / T) + 0,15 * (s / S) + 0,10 * (c / C) + 0,20]

Where:

- p = the new price after revision for the current calendar year

- P = the price of the previous calendar year

- t = tariff for temporary indoor activities under the Royal Decree on Equitable Remuneration for calendar year X

- T = tariff for temporary indoor activities for calendar year X–1

- s = wage scale I (PC200) for calendar year X

- S = wage scale I (PC200) for calendar year X–1

- c = price index (Q3 of calendar year X–1) for computer programming, consultancy & related activities

- C = price index (Q3 of calendar year X–2) for computer programming, consultancy & related activities

This price revision mechanism is intended solely to allow this portion of the compensation to evolve in line with the real cost of creating a work.
