To ensure that creators continue to receive fair compensation for the use of their work, especially in a changing economic environment, our rates are adjusted each year on 1 January.
The rates for authors’ rights are adjusted using a price review mechanism that reflects several factors linked to the creation and use of creative works. In 2026, the price review factor is 1.019441143486.
The rates for Fair Remuneration are adjusted in line with the consumer price index. In 2026, this represents an increase of 2.06%.
What does this mean in practice?
If you paid 200 euros in 2025 to play music in your business (100 euros in authors’ rights and 100 euros in Fair Remuneration), then this amount will increase as follows in 2026:
- Authors' rights: from 100 euros to 101.94 euros (100 x 1.019441143486).
- Fair Remuneration: from 100 euros to 102.06 euros (100 x 1.0206)
