Which works of art are eligible for resale right?

Every original work of art is eligible for resale rights.

Article XI.175, § 1, of the Code of Economic Law states: "For the purposes of this section, 'original work of art' means a work of graphic or plastic art, such as images, collages, paintings, drawings, engravings, prints, lithographs, sculptures, tapestries, ceramics, glassware and photographs, in so far as this work is a creation by the artist himself, or is a copy that is regarded as original work of art.

Copies of works of art falling within the scope of this section which have been produced by the artist himself or on his behalf in a limited number of copies shall be regarded as original works of art within the meaning of this section. Such copies shall, as a general rule, be numbered, signed or otherwise authenticated by the artist.”
